Geographical Features:
- There are a few mountain ranges that run through Attica. These mountain ranges will provide some protection for the back of our Polis. Also, there are cool springs and shady groves of elms and cypresses.
- The urban city of Attica was Athens and northeast from the urban center was Athmonum, Cephisia and other villages until reaching Mt. Pentelikon- the center of Attica where the quarries were located. Beyond this was the plain of Marathon (Battle of Marathon).
- South of Mt. Pentelikon were villages such as Pallane, Oa, and Lamptrae, and south of that was the rocky region of Laurium where the silver mines were. Cape Sunium was the southernmost tip of the peninsula.
- North of Mt. Pentelikon was the district of Diacria, and northwest from there was Mt. Parnes and Mt. Cithaeron with the small city-state of Plataea just beyond.
