Long, long ago there were once two Spartans who were thrown off the cliff after failing the basic inspection test. An oracle predicted that they would come of great power one day, yet they were too clumsy and oblivious to be successful in any sort of Spartan battle. This worried the Spartan Ephors, especially the lack of battle skills in the two children; the final verdict was that they were to be thrown off the cliff. However, this cliff overlooked an ocean, into which the children had fallen and where the god Poseidon had summoned a Hippocampus to catch and safely deposit them on a faraway peaceful land on the coast of Attica, parallel to Athens. This land was barren and empty though lush with greenery and potential. The children were then well raised by Poseidon’s kind sea nymphs. When they had come of age, the two children decided to go out and explore. Though they were clumsy and awkward, they still knew how to have fun and be kind. They began to build small shelters and eventually discovered the rich clay and other precious minerals present on their peaceful utopia. Catching the attention of the god Hephaestus, he granted them the gift of craft after they had impressed him with a simple clay construction. He saw the potential for an intricate sculpture and allowed the two children to possess the creativity to pass down to their descendents. These children became great friends and enjoyed their life though it was simple. They never exploited the resources they had and were respectful of the creatures and the gods alike. One day they saw a ship in the distance that eventually drifted its way ashore harboring several castaways from various lands; these were people who were also kicked out of their home lands by unjust rulers simply because they didn't fit “the norm”. The two friends welcomed their new companions to what they named Chaos- a place that was built up from nothing and accepts all who are kind and good of heart, a land of opportunity, equality, new life, and new beginnings. The Chaotics would always welcome weary travelers and created a highly successful trading network out of their ports due to their acceptance. They explored many new cultures and learned many new things which ultimately built Chaos up into a highly functional Polis based off of trade. Every year since, the Chaotics give thanks and credit their success to the two kind friends as well as Poseidon and Hephaestus for their charity and ability to see the diamond in the rough.
