Theater Extremely involved in theater, loved dramas and comedies. Their most popular and famous play depicts the formation of Chaotic, based on the Chaotic myth of the Polis’ origin. Any citizen was free to write and execute a play. The most popular type of play honored Poseidon and Hephaestus as well as depicted nationalism for Chaos. Often made clay masks to show a character and be worn in the play.
Literature The Chaoitics developed their alphabet based off of the one the Phoenicians created, they had the Linear B style writing. Also, the Chaotics wrote many myths about their Polis as they were proud of where they came from. There were also many philosophers that would write about their findings and thoughts.
Sporting Events The Chaotics participated in the Athenian Olympic Games when held. They also partook in their own athletic event: The Chaotic Games where both male and female athletes could compete from any class, as long as they were Chaotic. They were held as a celebration to Poseidon and Hephaestus, and also allowed citizens to show off their skills and compete to be the ideal representative of Chaos. Held over 4 days: Day 1- basic chariot race to honor Poseidon, the god of horses. Day 2- boat racing, the Chaotics would race their boats around the harbor. Day 3- the peak, a traditional foot race and wrestling. Day 4- archery, each athlete would have to craft his own bow and arrow and shoot at a target.
Music/Dance The most popular instrument was the lyre. Many people joined a choir as well. All citizens were encouraged to play the instrument or sing, and both were taught in the schools along with dancing. Choirs and instruments were plentiful and could be found at any sort of celebration, religious festival, funeral, or other social gathering. They were also apart of plays and to thank/pray to their gods. The Chaotics often danced, it was often a part of singing. They were a very energetic people and could dance and sing for hours.
